Power Card
Power Cards are a type of card that are played by a Spirit during the Spirit Phase. These cards are the primary tool that Spirits use to fight against the Invaders.
Parts of a Power Card
Card Name: Written at the top of the card, the Power Card's Name is a description used to explain the actions taken by the Spirits.
Energy Cost: The amount of energy required to put the card into play at the end of the Spirit Phase, during the Choose Powers Phase.
Elements: While a Power Card is in play, you gain the Elements listed in the column on the left-hand side of the card. There are eight Elements; from top-to-bottom on the Power Card, they are Sun (
), Moon (
), Fire (
), Air (
), Water (
), Earth (
), Plant (
), and Animal (
). Some Powers have extra effects if you have gained enough of the elements that those extra effects require. Power Cards give you the Elements listed as soon as you pay for the Power Card and put it into play, regardless of whether it is Fast or Slow, and those Elements go away as soon as the Power Card leaves play (usually during Time Passes).
Target Box: The section of the card that shows you the speed of the card, its origin land requirements and range, and its targeting restriction(s). Power Cards can either be Fast () or Slow (
). Power Cards that target a land have a Range Arrow (Range 1), and sometimes have a requirement for the origin land, such as requiring a Sacred Site (
), or requiring that the Power be targeted from a certain land type, such as Wetlands (Wetland) or Jungle (Jungle). Power Cards that target a Spirit do not have Range Arrows in the Target section of their Target Box. Many Power Cards also have targeting restrictions; these can vary between many different restrictions, such as requiring a Dahan (
), requiring Invaders, requiring a certain land type(s), or requiring you to target Another Spirit. Powers that require you to target Another Spirit may be used on yourself in the case that there is no other Spirit in the game.
Effect Text: The text instructions which tell you what to do when using/resolving the card. Spirits are allowed to skip using/resolving a Power Card completely; you keep any elements the card gives to you while the card is in play, even if you don't use/resolve a card's effect.
